Gene,

I'm assuming the 810 based product was intro'd after that. And I expect a lot of 815 based product when that starts shipping from Intel.

The 810-based product appears to be the L Series (the Affordable Systems). I found one article from Sept. 1999 from the New Strait Times that talks about how Dell had recently introduced the L Series, so it must have been before September. That implies that they updated the product line, and will probably do so again when the 815 comes out. The T Series SDRAM desktop line will disappear before the L Series does.

I think their version of low end will continue to be SDRAM for this year. And for RDRAM in an $800 box the price will really have to come down.

Yep, and production has to come up (tied together, those two are <G>). Normally, I'd agree with you, except for the fact that even the most optimistic of us last year didn't expect to see RDRAM in $1500 systems until the end of the year. So I'm just adjusting my mental expectations.

You guys can have the last word. There are too many assumptions built into my numbers that we could argue about for the next 8 months. Good discussion, though.

Dave
