Dave, being the cautious fellow I am, I'm leary of assigning more than 1/3 of Dell PCs to RMBS.

Your right my wag was boxes. You need to plug in estimated mem which for PCs I would guess is 128Megs, for workstations???

Your also right that these numbers can be refined. I think this is a far more legitimate way of estimated RMBS rev for the year. The intentions of Samsung, etc. are nothing but PR thus although I had that discussion with T. Warren trying to estimate revs from intentions, I've recently begun looking more closely at boxes.

It would be much easier for us to get a handle on that. The visibility is much better. Rich

the only problem i see is,we just went thru a major y2k upgrade(i work for the government)using the optiplex.
unless y3k gets here quicker i see sales possibly slowing.
the machine it replaced was a 466dx2.
my hope is corporate america upgrades much much quicker than us.
perhaps overseas can make up the slack...rizz
