Actually, I am fond of Borges, but I am uncertain he belongs, and was mainly badgered by an earlier participant to show some diversity. I am not sure if I am keeping him....

I am unsure about omitting Elvis, and have had him on and off, actually. One could argue that he merely was first past the post, and if it hadn't been Elvis who broke the ice, it would have been Carl Perkins or Roy Orbison, or even Buddy Holly, for example. One could also say that he was an essential cultural icon, with his good looks and sexuality, who helped to ensure that rock was not drowned in a wave of teen- idol ballads from the likes of Frankie Avalon. I am still going back and forth on this.......
