I would agree with Zbyslaw..........NN is probably a good purchase for ALA and both NN and ALA has been performing extremely well lately.

NN is actually likely to expand as ALA merges it's ATM team and consolidate it's ATM R&D over to Kanata.

Time will tell.

Newbridge will absorb DSC Comm. operation too.

My admittedly EXTREMELY limited experience with DSC people is that they are not thrilled with the Alcatel aquisition, either.

Of course, saying that, acquisitions are hard. Almost nobody does them very well.

Zbyslaw;

As a former Alcatel employee, let me give you my opinion on what happens after Newbridge is taken over. Newbridge will be allowed to run its own show for a while (6-18 months). Gradually, Alcatel will move in some mid-level managers with good contacts back to Paris or Richardson/Plano, Texas. Flynn may be too entrepreneurial for the Alcatel old guard so he may
not be around for a long time. I give him 2 years. I don't think Mathews will be around even that long before he's back into another start-up.

Its happened in every one of Alcatel's acquisitions to-date and I don't see this one being any different.

Also, under Alcatel's current structure, Newbridge will report though Alcatel USA under Krish Pradu, who report to
executive VP Olivier Houssin in Paris.

Having worked for Houssin, he's not very inspiring.
