Morgan,

Two good posts.

The one about taking companies private is very possibly a precursor of things to come. NITE may be too big. But there are hundreds of other companies who are candidates trading at or far below book value. Not to mention that some old line companies and foreign companies are flush with cash and could be looking to spend on takeovers.

The technology geared toward traders is a great sign too. DELL wouldn't even bother if they didn't think there was a lot of growth to be had.

I traded back in towards the end of the day. Just couldn't stay away. Your trading plan looks to be on target.

- in reference to NITE's upcoming ownerhip in nasdaq itself, can someone tell me if this means huge $$$'s down the road?

- specifically, I believe every nasdaq firm pays various fees to the exchange; & the exchnage makes a ton of money (I assume); so if NITE owns a good chunk, wouldn't it stand to reason that this w/b another good revenue enhancer?

- "JERSEY CITY, N.J., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Knight/Trimark Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NITE), the largest wholesale market maker in U.S. equity securities, announced today that it has decided to subscribe fully to Nasdaq's private placement. As the largest market maker in Nasdaq securities, Knight believes that the private placement will provide sufficient funding to upgrade Nasdaq's infrastructure and technology."
