Maurice, as an FYI in case you didnt know, not all put-buyers are speculators. If a nervous investor bought G* @ $50 early this year, she would be sleeping well tonight had she bought G* $50 put LEAPs at the same time. In other words, puts are frequently bought as insurance for a long position - there is no implied lack of faith in the stock's fundamentals at the time of investment, only a lack of faith in the market and/or a lack of time to constantly monitor the company's health.
