IDCC is about a $1B market cap. If they had anything of value to QCOM, MOT, ERICY, or NOK for that matter, don't you think one of them would have acquired IDCC by now? For years it traded around $5/sh. No one wanted it then and no one wants it now.

microe, your logic is flawed for several reasons:

1) You are assuming that every technological asset that IDCC has today was known by a possible suitor "for years."

2) You are dismissing the great number of corporate success stories (QCOM, for example) that managed to avoid being acquired despite having a low market value.

3) You are assuming that a company could acquire IDCC right now, despite their ongoing litigation with ERICY.

4) You are dismissing the strong possibility that an attempt to purchase the company would trigger a bidding war. I am quite sure one of the big telecom stocks would not allow another to get all of IDCC's intellectual property rights at bargain prices.

Take your pick.
