This is the height of absurdity. How can a 6 year have a lawyer--how would he instruct that lawyer intelligently with regard to the legal decisions that needed to be made? Could he fire that lawyer if he were unhappy with the representation, as could an adult? So exactly whose instructions would this "lawyer for Elian" be following? Not his client's, since Elian is too young to even understand what a lawyer is and does. The contra-Juan Miguel position is adequately represented by lawyers for Juan Miguel, and Donato (Donato Dairypimple has a lawyer in these proceedings!). Dershowitz is straining to say anything he can to get his mug on national TV; Dairypimple is just trying to extend his 15 minutes of fame.
