Hi lurger,

yep, I knew the Beano brothers were going to run into Tero Beano someday, just did not know when.

The Beano brothers are on a hiatus because I did not want to throw Bebo's luck up in the face of those who were not covered. When people are losing their asses, they do not have to be told nor have it illustrated.

BTW - Bebo did write calls again at ATM on the Q at the April expiration so he is fine but not Bobo, that's another story.

Hi Lurqer,

Excellent post. You are right about the conundrums. It was a thought provoking post. You choice is well thought out also.

Later,

Joel

Hi lurqer, you make great points. I was almost prepared to Beano it on ELON at 23 a fw weeks ago--didn't think it could go much lower--but the general market scared me. Voltage had pointed out the great premiums for cc--just write ATM or slightly OTM. Something lke 20%

NOK was a good choice. I haven't done the cc yet but I'd like to try it this summer.

Another thing you can do in this currently schizo market is short-term (day) trade call options. Because there are brief rallies and sell the rallies every week. For instance, NTAP volatility--it intraday traded from 58 to 63 and back down to 58 Friday. June 60s were 7, went up to 9 1/4, and down to 7. I got them at 7 7/8 and sold at 9 (limit order that flled while I was out.) I only did this on 10 calls, just trying to see how it works. So that was $1300 for the day. Well if you did 100 calls that would be $13,000. I also boutht some more Sept 100s which I'd already traded in and out of (a triple). I still have those. Ssometimes you may get caught, but if you watch charts, and news you can do pretty well, and that's certainly more than summer school.

I had treid this earlier in the week, following a friend's lead, on BRCM Mays. But I find I get too nervous on front month calls. If I'd held them until Friday (2 days) I would've made a profit, but I need psychological room. I had sold tem the same day and made nothing.
