Tom,

I have just signed on to SI for the first time since Fri. morning and saw your note about dissatisfaction that some may have expressed.

I am a Charts Plus customer and for $35 a month, I get a great product. For this price, I would be hard pressed to complain about anything. The tools are there, the information is there, I get what I pay for. One day, maybe I will feel like subscribing to the Professional Service, as it intrigues me, Jay has offered a trial, maybe I will do that.

Tom, I have only been trading for a few years now and am more a trader than an investor. One thing I keep reminding myself about P&F is that it is ART and science.

I am using Search and Sort to find trades and have been doing pretty well. I have been cautious in the market and have posted here occasionally regarding the NYSEBP chart and my caution has helped and I am fortunate to be having an excellent year, and trading long and short contributes to this.

For investors, it is a minefield out there. My longer term positions at this point are limited to non-techs and I like utilities here as a safe haven from the volatility for the next six months.

I suspect that the concerns being expressed have more to do with the volatility in the market and less to do with DWA. While I am a newer trader, I am not so stupid as to think that one can buy and hold and earn 50-100% annual returns. Time catches up to the markets, and we have to be realistic in those expectations. As for trading, that can be a different story, but it will always depend on risk management and the ability to take what the market gives and to not be greedy in the process. I make money only because I stop myself out of bad trades quickly. Trading is fun, it is challenging, I truly believe that being able to go long or short is very important, I appreciate all that DWA does to give me useful tools to help me do what I do.

Thanks again for everything and keep up the good work.

David
