The ASUS manual isn't too precise about where to put the sensor.

asus.com
page 29 it shows taping the sensor to the heatsink.
It appears the Athlon doesn't have a special place for it.

And Bruce, when you go into the bios, you only have a cpu temp if the probe is attached.
If there is an internal sensor on the Athlon, I havent found it. Maybe someone else can help.

And CrazyMan, yes I remember James Electronics before Jameco. (I'm real old)

Seems your room temperature has a lot to do with it.
After an hour this morning I'm running 27/32.
