I responded directly to his points. He disagrees with my analysis. I suggested that, if he is so sure of the wisdom of his arguments, he join in an effort to bring the matter to a national referendum by means of a proposed constitutional amendment. I would fully support such a process, and of course would accept the result. He failed to respond to this proposal at all, although it seems the natural answer to years of fruitless and acrimonious debate. Neither of us, this time around, opined on how Colonial Jews viewed the 2nd Amendment at the time of its adoption.
