I also thought I read somewhere that AWE has something like 75-80% of its subscribers digital. Can you help reconcile this for me?

A subscriber who purchases a Digital One Rate plan receives a dual mode phone. They are listed as a digital subscriber even though the nationwide ATT wireless network is mostly analog. This contrasts with someone who owns a phone that is analog only. I believe that all phones being sold today are dual mode.

To see the coverage map for yourself, go here: attws.com and click on the coverage map link. Note how many entire states have NO digital coverage.
