Mornin' Keith,

I live in Aiken, SC just across the river from Augusta, Ga. Ever been here? Smallish southern town, but somewhat cosmopolitan since we have alot of 'transplants' working at the Savannah River Site close by. I've been to Charlotte some. It's a great city. I like NC, particularly Pisgah forest area around Brevard. I sometimes take a horse and ride up there. Usually stable at the Biltmore riding stables. They have some good trails there, too. I like living in Aiken (been here since '79). Very horse-friendly place. Hundreds of horses are stabled within the city limits, and it's not unusual to see carriages downtown. We have a 2000 acre urban forest with bridal paths, even some equestrian traffic lights where riders can push a button (from horseback) to stop traffic so as to cross busy streets to access the Woods. Some city streets are still unpaved because of the number of horses in the area. We have thoroughbred racehorse training barns (ever hear of Dogwood stables) Dogwood had 2 horses running in the Kentucky derby this year, Impeachment and Trippi. Did ya see it? There's polo and foxhunting and cutting horses, too. Lots of golf courses. Aiken has become a hiatus for retirees as we have such great year round weather.

If ya happen to be passing through, let me know
Thanks for info on IARC, will keep it on watch.

Giddyap!
