And it isn't a ridiculous situation for a boy to be denied his father after his mother has been killed?

If that father were ANY other nationality there would be no problem. Even if he were CHINESE and they are in a MUCH more repressive society than Cubans.

It is simply too arbitrary and unjust to single Cuba and Cuban citizens out in this way (imo).

Jon, I asked you whether you would stop your 6 year old daughter from going out and hang around with the boys at 2:00 AM.

Your answers were as follows:

1) NO, you would not stop her if YOU deemed the situation safe.

2) YES, you would stop her if YOU thought the situation was risky or unsafe.

It seems to me, my dear Jon, that despite what you profess about children's rights, the ultimate decision is always YOURS (the parent). Therefore, what you are really saying is that a child has the right to make a request but the parent is the one who grants or denies the request.

I guess we can now consider you a normal parent. You are saying what the majority of us here have been saying all along.
