Well, then, I guess that answers Daniel's question. Jewish views of gun ownership, at least in Israel, are pro-ownership. I still don't know the statistics in the U.S., and I still feel it is improper to focus on any particular ethnic group in debates of secular issues.

The 2nd Amendment is a thorny issue--there are places in the country where even obtaining a small arms permit is near impossible. Is this unconstitutional? If so, why aren't the laws in these places challenged in the courts?

And, if the 2nd Amemdment is so clear, why all this debate? Certainly, the current members of the Supreme Court are no wacko liberals--couldn't they be counted on to properly interpret the Constitution?
