I'm talking about a product I've not used. It would be no big thing if I were legally allowed to sell it to someone else. Because I didn't then and don't now want Windows, I'm a Communist? I should shut up and be happy in the celebration of successful capitalism that is Microsoft (God bless her)? Hmmm... well, you've given me a lot to think about there. You'll forgive me for remaining a much larger fan of the United States of America (Government) than I am of MSFT. I just can't seem to get to that "My equity right or wrong" zen yet. It was impossible to buy aPC from IBM, Dell, Gateway, Micron, Hewlett Packard, Packard-Hell, etc., without Windows. (You could buy something from a screwdriver shop, but nothing with a brand name.) Say you wanted a PC to run Linux, or DR-DOS, or a real-time OS. The shrinkwrap contract (from Microsoft) specifically stated that if you were not using Windows,and not going to use Windows, you could get a refund. Prior to the current anti-trust suit, how many copies of Windows were returned, and how much money was refunded? I don't know the exact number returned, but it was > 0. The amount of money refunded was $0. I happen to think that a proper function of government is enforcing contracts. I guess that makes me a Communist(;->). Since the anti-trust trial, MS will now refund your money, and it is also possible to buy a name brand PC without Windows. God damn government is ruining the economy. (If companies have to honor their contracts, how will anyone survive???) -Russ
