While not being a volunteer to jump into a defense of Linux (*nix) on the desktop, the formal structure of a *nix filesystem (to say nothing of ascii config files) makes for an exponentially better methodology for installing programs that the haphazard pile o' gack that is Windows. Windows WISHES it had something as ascended as DEB (and online program updating) --- BTW, Microsoft has just *patented an innovation which is a re-implimentation of Debians online package management method. --- It *must be good if M$ decided it was worth patenting. <g>-JCJ
