BrownBag When I asked, I hoped you would be free to answer by now. [sometimes agreements about "trade secrets" can go on for forever] What you say regarding WordPerfect makes perfect sense. Corel deserves credit for UI improvement, menu structure, file compatibility with MS, and tighter integration of the components (the list goes on and on). Core code remains the same, although we might wish it otherwise, just to be able to pound on Rod. I find it interesting that the old WP Unix versions and quite possibly the Linux version used an outtake code base from the same DOS roots. Regards, Leo
