If you turn if off with that function, does it reappear when you reboot. I can make it disappear following those steps, however when I reboot it always shows up again. I wanted to strike the task scheduler with MSCONFIG, but wasn't sure which command line it was.

edit...just read the remaining posts and saw the suggestions for disabling task scheduler.

BTW, thanks for the DVD reco. the other day.

Click on Advanced, then Stop Using Task Scheduler.
