>>Most recently, in North Korea children were routinely stripped out of their homes and put in a state-run boarding school situation.<<

Happens in England too among the wealthier families. And they call themselves civilized!

Oh, ok ... poorly stated, sure ... better 'under the overwhelmingly, commonly, deeply regarded mores of our species' ... but that's so much typing ... i do think our species has "built-in" moral axioms, and among them is a prohibition against stealing the young of another ... that that axiom is violated from time to time, as it certainly has been, does not negate its existence, nor does it salve the mind in its abhorrence of further violations.

A lurker points out a twist on the FNCA site - canfnet.org

"The Cuban American National Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the re-establishment of freedom and democracy in Cuba."

.. "re-establishment" my arse - Cuba has never known democracy, power over it went straight from spanish rule to a succession of US puppet dictators, then to Castro ... putting the 're-' in there makes this outfit look like Batista apologists ... and lends credence to the theory that they are dictators-in-waiting ... can you imagine the current regime in Miami city hall running a nation?
