Jane, I had CMGI as one of my two top stocks ( the other one was/is GLW, Corning Inc). I still like CMGI and think it will provide superior returns in the future, but I am concerned about it as a performer in the shorter run. I don't think they are running out of cash, if anything, their cash hoard and the stock "currency" will enable to buy some very attractive internet properties at distress prices. Certainly internet incubators that rely on IPOs of their babies have totally lost favor on Wall St. CMGI and ICGE being the cruelest examples. I am holding my CMGI and tempted to trade shares from the low 50's to the low 60's. ICGE I have banished from my screen, along with NITE and NOVL (probably the strongest recommendation that there is to buy these stocks now, ggg). I too am intriqued by oil and oil service. CNBC keeps mentions Apache and Andarko, natural gas companies setting new highs. I traded HAL for a few points and left the rest on the table. I have owned PKD and FGH as small (low priced) oil service companies and they are behaving nicely. There is still a lot of disbelief that this oil thing is for real and I fear that the group will trade down on the first significant retracement of oil prices. I do feel that this sector should be a 10-20% position of a quality hold portfolio, at least for the present. I just started following this oil/oil service thread on SI: Subject 12099 Larry
