MORE NEWS (ACMM).........

MENLO PARK, Calif., May 16, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Accom, Inc. (OTC
Bulletin Board: ACMM) announced today that the Australian Broadcasting
Corporation (the ABC) purchased nine Abekas(R) Dveous Digital Video Effects
Systems. This purchase is part of a national rebuild program in which all of the
ABC's Production Centers, located throughout Australia, are being upgraded to a
full digital infrastructure.

The ABC's Technology Strategy and Development group (TS&D) was responsible for
coordinating the numerous responses to the ABC's tender and for making the
technical and strategic choice. In February a number of key operational and
maintenance personnel were flown to Sydney for the final "shootout" after which,
the choice was unanimous. This panel of engineers and operators chose the Abekas
Dveous because of its frame based 10-bit processing, 16 x 9 capabilities and its
proven track record worldwide. ABC's TS&D insist that all equipment be "real"
and demonstrated to their satisfaction. The Dveous was well favored as it
integrates fully into their new digital production centers, which are currently
under construction.

The evaluation team found that the unit is extremely well engineered. Plug-in,
multi-layered, state-of-the-art modules are housed in a well-ventilated chassis,
providing the operator with a very reliable machine. In addition, Accom provides
a high-level of serviceability, which is very important in a mission critical
on-air environment. The ABC operational staff was very impressed with the
enhanced capabilities and overall functionality of the Abekas Dveous.

All nine units will be used in both live and post production environments. The
units ordered are fully optioned with Target FrameStore, Color Correctors and
Wide Range Defocus. The Sydney branch will initially be equipped with two units.
The first unit, a dual-twin channel Dveous will be used in its only digital
linear edit suite. This is to ensure that network promotions and programs, such
as Four Corners, Foreign Correspondent and Quantum, as well as other prime time
programs, will be able to conform to meet the new digital standards. While the
live, on-air News/Caff Studio will be equipped with a single-twin channel unit
to compliment the GVG(TM) Kalypso's(TM) internal DVEs. The other seven units are
to be utilized in each of the state capitals, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart,
Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, and Darwin and consist of single twin channel units
with Target FrameStore, Wide Range Defocus and Color Correctors.
