Supposedly, Wit Capital + E*Offering will now be the sole source for E*Trade IPO shares. Bought Wit Capital's 100k accounts for about $20 million, which works out to be $200 an account. Suppose that's one way to grow, but wonder if Wit Capital clients are happy to be going into EGRP?

The $328 million in WITC stock goes into E*Offering, a privately held company which E*Trade owns about 28% of. So you could say EGRP gets $100 million in equities, but it is hardly the cash infusion that some people on the boards have been touting.
