Just got off the phone with Julie McClure of Qualcomm investor relations. It was her impression that
las-cdma had not been demonstrated yet, and that it had not been submitted to the standards bodies.
ie, it has a long ways to go. In addition, she confirmed that all the flavors of cdma, including this one
still need the essential Qualcomm IP to turn it on, and referred me to the press release by Qualcomm
on October 11, 1999.

So, my take on all this is that it is still a long way off, and when it does become something to
consider, it will only benefit Qcom. It is just another indication that the future is going to be all cdma,
and Qualcomm is in the driver's seat as always.

On another note, Julie will be leaving Qualcomm to have a child, and her place will be taken by
Nancy Moreby. Our best wishes to Julie, and we wish to welcome Nancy to the new position. Pfinz.

From another Q thread.........
