Halo's microdrive (type I) is still not ready for prime time.

According to this piece the product may start shipping at the end of the year.

The CompactFlash I miniature hard disk from Halo Data Devices is not yet ready for the market. According to the manufacturer, though, this state of affairs should have been corrected by the end of the year, in the USA at least. There is a similar situation for final price. Halo Data Devices itself is striving for a price of around $300 at launch, but has let it be known that it will adjust the final price to the situation of the market at the time.

At that price it will sell at about the same price as a decent 1.3 megapixel camera.
