Skeeter;

I tend to agree with most of what you say. I too have taken full advantage of many of the ridiculous special oofers that many of these sites have run to drive traffic. I must have 3 years supply of multivitamins sitting in my closet which cost me a total of a couple of $ including shipping.

When the shakeout in etailing is over (its just starting) I think we will be left with a small handful of much stronger players who will end up competing on convenience, as opposed to price, with their offline competitors.

As an example of a business model which is working very well along these lines is Netflix.com, a DVD rental site. Although I end up paying slightly more per month, given the number of rentals I typically see, nothing beats the convenience of their service.

i also loved getting $21 worth of vitamins delivered for $1. drugemporium.com treated me
very well, too. so did drugstore.com. i love paying pennies on the dollar.

Skeeter,

My stores use a lot of paper towels due to all the glass we must continue to clean. I don't even know how much we use but it is around ten rolls daily.

Some on-line store had a recall on a case of 24 paper towels for $1 and that included the shipping as long as you became a customer. They a new a different customer by a different email address. I obtain 9 cases of paper towers for a $1, my obtained 6 cases and my wife obtained 3 cases. They are all used by the stores now and they were the cheap quality paper towel but what a deal<G>
