Actually, I have considered going back to school via correspondence. As far as accounting goes if the knowledge one gains in that field is imperative for financial success, why is an economist the head of the Federal Reserve? There are many spreadsheets on the market that will calculate gains and losses for you. And there are many accountants who will disagree with you and with each other about what you can or cannot write off for tax purposes. Nothing is set in stone unless the IRS or SEC says that it is.
