Tim,

The reason many of us who want to keep this thread is because there were many well written posts, analysis about not only Ancor, but also FC and other WAN/Lan technology as well since 1996. You can find analysis of Ancor's financial situation through the years. We have live through many debacles such as the broken Sequent deals, floorless convertible preferred shares which brought the share price to intraday low of $1. We watched the rise of Brocade because of the Sequent problem. We wrote about why we think Ancor's technology is the best among their peers. Many of us even bookmark those posts. While it is true we love our investment in Ancor, the substance of this thread weighs way over the emotional tie we have with the company.

Tim,

I can only explain my feeling for not abandoning the thread like this: It's not about loyalty, it's about history. And much of that history occupied not a small part of our lives.

If there was a better QLGC thread, I would be visiting both until the merger and then say a fond farewell.

But since there isn't, we're gonna be the de facto QLGC thread anyway. So we don't have to move.
