Mark, Sony's Mr. Ando had two news releases in the last couple days and on both occassions he mentioned Palm specifically by name and no one else. Looks like Sony is self sufficient on all its technologies except PDAs. I have to say Yankowski being from Sony himself, must be good friend of Mr. Ando. They also seems to be working on many joint-projects.

I think Palm in the long term as far as hardware is concerned, will focus on the high end and the enterprise segments and leaving the low-end market to the likes of Handspring and Sony. By announcing all Palm in the future will be wireless-enabled, Palm is really saying they are abandoning the low end market and aim at the Palm VII and up market.

One thing I can't figure out is how they are going to play the voice market. Sea of news will come from Nokia and Motorola once they think it's time to announce something - hopfully before distribution.
