I guess the wealth effect caused the rise in oil prices and not OPEC manipulating prices. I know I for one could hardly wait to take my stock profits and splurge on gasoline for the car. Higher interest rates by the Fed sure do curb my appetite for gasoline. I guess getting medical attention is a splurge also. How dare people get medical attention and buy drugs. We need higher interest rates to stop that demand.
