Hi Terry,

My experience is that what these guys do is use the promised shares as collateral and then proceed to short the stock until their short position equals the number of shares they were promised. They probably started shorting in late February.

The way they cover is to simply present the shares they were promised. They don't have to buy any shares back in order to cover their position.

Not a bad deal, especially when you look where APPI's stock price was in late February.

Not sure when the 18M shares will be used. Maybe they will be used to cover an existing short position too.

Regards,
Chris

Let me tell you a little story about APPI.
I started taking ACA in Feb of 1999... I have Chronic lymphocytic leukemia and thought it might be a good idea to take ACA because it helps boost the immune system.... I haven't had any treatments since I was diagnosed 6 years ago.... Well two months ago my doctor told me it's time for treatments because my platelet counts were extremely low.. 92,000 to be exact... So off to Daner Farber I went to see my Oncologist.... He said before we start treatments, what types of vitamins and supplements are you taking.... I told him, he said stop taking the ACA for six weeks and we will check your platelet counts again, if it starts to return to normal then it was the ACA and if it continues to drop, it's time for chemo.... Well I stopped taking ACA and six weeks later my counts went back to normal?? Just think, If my doctor didn't ask me about the ACA, I would be on Fluderabene (Chemo).... I think the company should look into this and see if it might be a problem for other types of blood diseases. We finally took a look at my Blood count charts from March 1999 to April 2000 and yes, my platelet count started dropping one month after taking ACA.... Feb 1999, Platelet count 175,000... March, 148,000 April, 137,000 May 132,000... June-Sept, 119,000.... Oct-Dec 105,000.... Jan, 2000 100,000... Feb-March, 92,000....May 5th ( 168,000 ) The doctors told me it couldn't be anything else but the ACA... I own stock in APPI and will continue to but I believe we might have hit a bump in the road? Or maybe it's just my body?..... Lets hope it's only me and not the other 10,20,50,000 people out there that might start taking them.... Good luck people.... Long and strong APPI.
