David,

Good points.

To me, it makes sense to allow users to view popular subjects for financial or non-financial discussion. That's why we separate Hot StockTalk (financial) and Hot Coffee Talk (non-financial) on the home page.

(It's true that there is some off-topic discussion in StockTalk and vice versa, but essentially that separation is accurate.)

What about the rest of the site?

The medium-term plan is to relaunch the StockTalk Home Page and allow people to search for "hot subjects" in any forum, in addition to some other cool things we've been working on.

For now, we'll correct the /stocktalk/sub_hot problem you reported.

Thanks,
John

David,
Thank you for clarifying that.
I thought SI was ignoring me again, and they were.

I had absolutely no idea the the hot subjects were listed in the Stock Talk section. I know I am not the only one that is surprised. I have seen comments on SI just recently, suggesting that SI has gone to the dogs, since the only subjects posted to these days are the coffee shop threads.

I was not being facetious in my comment, merely trying to get an answer from the powers that I thought had the answers.
