You are vegetarian? We are not but our next door neighbors are from India and grow some Indian eggplant like stuff that is really good. We have planted only about 150 sq ft, cucumbers, roma tomatoes, garlic, onion, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, red peppers, watermelon, carrots, radishes. My wife gets fertilizer from Gardeners Supply, which appears to be run by a bunch of ex-hippies, and I think their products are safe. I really don't want to use cow manure even though it's easily available here because they use BGH, etc. I think we're going to get some bats and use the guano for nitrogen. Plus they eat mosquitos like crazy.
