That's pretty close to the response I had. This is one big area I bet the Pat Buchannan supporters would really rail against. What we need is a little objective data to go on. How many IT jobs are currently going unfilled?

The one thing that intrigued me was the issue of training your own workers to be available down the road. I've heard Microsoft has set up quite a few programs where they train high school kids, in the hope they will one day work for them. But I don't believe it's very wide spread in the industry.

Seems to me high tech companies could go much further in their strategic planning by setting up training programs for the next generation of workers. I could be wrong, but I picture a lot of them too busy cutting down tree's to sharpen the saw.
