May I have the honor of being the first to thank Carl for his exit. His prior exit resulted in a sixfold hike in the price of RMBS; his current departure should be worth another double.

As for his "looking forward to saying I told you so again," Carl proves himself almost in a league of his own as far as delusion goes, seeing that his first prediction (otherwise known as RMBS is "dead, dead, dead") occurred when RMBS was trading at 70 dollars.

Best wishes from all of us for a speedy recovery.

Prophet

Welcome back.

What percentage of the market is servers?
What about SUN using RDRAM in its MAJC servers?

WHERE THE **** IS THAT DDR MOBO?
WHERE IS TBIRD WITHOUT DDR?

What about MOT, TXN, DELL, LU, VTSS, PMCS etc all having products with RDRAM?

Besides graphics and servers(if and when a DDR mobo gets here) WHAT DESIGN WINS DOES DDR HAVE????

I do not expect a direct reply to this question BECAUSE NONE IS AVAILABLE.

Welcome back!

Bilow...I can't believe you actually think this way!?!

Sorry for deliberately making fun of that stuff, the truth is that a lot of you are truly stupid and will believe pretty much anything, I shouldn't make such sport of you. My favorite was the guy who used the word "payed". (What has happened to education in this country?)

HEY BILOW!! Wake up!!

What makes you special?

Why are you constantly patronizing people?

Do you believe that you are a martyr dispatched to the poor Rambus thread to save people from themselves? A little less condescension and a little more self-deprication might make the little people more responsive to your highness' opinions.

Are you diluted into the belief that because of your status as an engineer (maybe), that you have a god-like intellect? I promise you that this thread has some very intelligent people that participate daily. Of course you are the only one that is sitting atop the throne.

Enough of the mom & pop analogies. It may make you feel larger or more important or more intelligent...but you aren't. Your opinion is just an opinion.

My opinion is that you are a paid hack. What else would explain your steadfast preoccupation with this message board. You have to earn a living sometime. It sure isn't making $2.80 trades.

I am going to largely leave this thread to its own devices for a while. Look for me again sometime this summer, when the cr@p finally hits the fan, though, I do look forward to again saying "I told you so."

Carl, <Look for me again sometime this summer, when the cr@p finally hits the fan, though, I do look forward to again saying "I told you so.">

You may want to wait until fall when DDR really does hit the desktop. Until then, I suspect that in the summer, most of the initial DDR production will be taken up by servers and graphics controllers. By that time, RDRAM prices will have dropped even more, not low enough to be considered mainstream, but enough to continue the trend. And by the time DDR arrives onto the desktop, Willamette will start ramping up, and on RDRAM only.

Trust me, this drama is going to continue on well into 2001. In other words, I doubt anyone will have the chance to say "I told you so" with any decisiveness this summer.
