I think that's a good point. If WCDMA is still more ether than real, then given the price paid for spectrum VOD will opt to deploy CDMA 2000, or the 2.5 version thereof, to begin generating revenues.

OTOH, if WCDMA is ready for prime time, Ericsson has cross licensed already with Q so revenues flow to Q in either event. I think Dr. J said some time ago that he wasn't too concerned what flavor CDMA, just roll it sooner rather than later. With Ericsson as the contractor, WCDMA had better be ready for prime time, because VOD has options. Real pressure mounting now to put up or fold. The important thing is Europe goes CDMA sooner rather than later. We probably have the UK spectrum auction to thank in part for that.
