Elizabeth Taylor Honored by Queen LONDON (AP) - Clad in an embroidered frock coat and sitting in a wheelchair, British-born actress Elizabeth Taylor went to Buckingham Palace today to be made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, the female equivalent of a knight. Queen Elizabeth II presented Taylor with the award for services to the entertainment industry and to charity, including her prodigious fund raising for AIDS research.
