Well there are certain types of P&Ds that are easy to spot like the ones that are run up by certain houses like CC and Yorkton. They have a definite way of operating that is easy to spot. As for the "irrational exhuberance" it depends on where it's coming from how I would play the momo. If it's coming from everywhere then I would definitely play it but if only from a select house or two I might not play it.

Another thing to remember is that we don't end up being the ones bidding up the stock ... by we I mean the thread participants. It can be a force that is manipulated by outsiders if they want to. We've seen how the houses manipulate some of the stocks that are played on this thread ... we show all our cards which may not be the brightest way to play the market but how else can we share information and learn to trade without the enemy watching our every move?

Lola:)

I agree. Impossible to tell while they are happening. Obviously even harder to prove, after the fact, as it is illegal and no one ever gets caught.

Had a chuckle at the IW P&D post, as well. A trader buddy called it a P&D back in October at $3. I wonder if they "dumped" at $66 <ggg>.
