Heinz:

I have a slightly different view of both the Fed's reasons for the stream of rate hikes and for believing that Greenspan now has no alternative but to maintain a rate hike environment.

The world is starting to quietly sell off treasuries (and if it were not for Al's many coupon passes, this would be even more evident). As well, he has the staggering worry of how best to keep that tidal wave of rotting treasury paper off shore. I can see nothing other than a wide rate spread as being able to hold back that tide.

Best, Earlie
