Many IL employers that hire people from the halfway houses usually get workers with very little skills so they end up operating punch presses or other machines that can be taught in under 30 minutes. Usually the work acts as a place for reference when the person gets released to actually try and get a job. But Dan Rostenkowski (ex Ways and Means chairman) had to wash dishes at a restuarant.
