Not trying to drag a dead horse into a hole, but if this stuff was done with any sort of planning u would expect the site to maintain it's integrity when a minor change was implemented. The way to solve the problem is to centralize the code base and reference routines that have already been written. Then when someone changes one of the common routines, the whole site ends up supporting the new functionality instead of what seems to be happening now. I cannot tell SI what to do, but I can make this as a suggestion.
