Hi pompsander; Actually, back last summer when I posted frequently to this thread, I also figured on leaving long before I actually did. I thought I had covered the main issues after only about 20 or so posts, but it was not to be...

What happens is that I feel that I've said everything, and then someone asks a question that I feel needs exploring in a way not already covered.

The main issues now are no longer the technological issues of costs and power consumption. The issues now are market penetration and performance. But these are not my specialty, so the interest in debating them is less, (as compared with the technological issues). On the other hand, commenting so much on the technological issues has left me with more interest in the marketing and benchmark stuff.

pomp,

LOL! I guess great minds think alike!

Carl: Why are you still here? You have zero credibility, neither on the engineering side (with comments like RDRAM wouldn't work in socketed configurations) nor on the business side (with statements like one forecast of the future is "correct" or "more accurate" than another -- an event impossible to determine at this time). Half the folks who read the board think you're paid by the word. Personally, I just think you have an irrational hatred for Rambus that leads you to make outlandish statements and come to bizarre conclusions. Either way, no one cares.

Go take the break you said your were going to take and get some perspective.
