go to another thread? yeah, sounds good. however, before we depart.... yup, Ciba had Chiron/Cetus, and Sandoz had SyStemix/GTI (without challenge, the biggest of blunders known to the sector). But, did they pull in their horns?

No!!

They kept doing deals and moving up the learning curve. I have great respect for the story to date. A very different path than Bayer, for instance (and there was only one MLNM shot to play catch up...... :-).

Let's not forget..... diagnostics were well managed at Chiron, and there was also good business sense in vaccines (if not scientific sense..... I will NEVER forget having gone to hear a Viagene presentation, just before Chiron bought them, where some of the principals admitted that they were barking up the wrong HIV tree).

I love this deal. I'd share MZ's cautious "wait and see", if not for the breadth of the VRTX business plan and the relevant preclinical work to date.

For those new to the thread..... PB, biowa and MZ are, without question, among the best 10 biotech investors known to man. And, once again -- review the thread -- we're all left saying "thanks Miljenko!"

<< mention JNK3 (c-jun-N-terminal kinase 3) >>

Correct as usual. JAK3, JNK3, whatever, just tell me whether you want the numbers to go higher or lower. ;o)
