Wooden stakes, driven into the bog, in big X shapes. Making big X shapes. One spike pounded this way, and one that, crossing near their upper middles. Then they laid planks in the top of the X, and made themselves a walkway across the bog. Fairly long. Like a mini-highway. Bog level rose, and preserved INTACT. Major discovery. I don't know that one. What, where? I forget. In a bog somewhere. Might be even older, too. Or maybe not that old. Funny that extreme dry and wet preserve wood.
