Fiber demand to grow 40-fold: Research firm TeleGeography said that demand for international bandwidth may keep pace with supply and increase more than 40 times in the next three years. While actual customer demand will only increase by up to 25 times, ISPs have been buying up vast sums of extra capacity just in case. The news bodes well for fiber-optics-stringers such as Global Crossing (GBLX), Qwest (Q) and Level 3 (LVLT), which many observers thought would face a glut of capacity. VVarges
