<Why would Ericsson choose to be dogmatic about the flavor of 3G? It bought over a year ago the CBS division of Qualcomm. After all, Ericy is in the business to make $$$ and if it can produce IS 95 base stations, it can surely produce CDMA2000. Qualcomm sells ideas, Ericsson sells Networks. Isnït it in the laterïs best interest to be a bit more opportunistic about 3G and follow QCOMïs wake? This would seem all the more reasonable given the recent 3G contract with Voda.
What am i missing here?

Ericy does seem to be doing it right. Making all options available and leaving it to the customer to choose.

But they will make most money from W-CDMA so I guess they'll steer them in that direction. They also are happy for GSM to continue as they have a big market share in that.
