Yeah, I second this notion. The only realistic use I see for TIFF is if you are a professional photographer and your work is going to show up in a full-page magazine ad. Else, TIFF mode is overkill and a waste of storage space and takes up way too much processing time in the camera IMO.

I shoot everything in *** (SuperFine) mode in my Epson 850Z (about 500kbyte file size)
