Betty, Could you please explain...

...the advantages of JumpShot! over ImageMate.

Is there something you read on the Lexar site that intriqued you? I would be interested in your impressions. I am too outraged by their activity to spend much time on their site and have no interest in their product line.

To be honest, I don't see where the value in JumpShot! is to the consumer and don't believe that the USB enhancement of Lexar's CF cards is, in any way, revolutionary.

Lexar has bundled JumpShot! with a card purchase. I wonder if this is done to attract market share. Given Lexar's lack of profitability in 1999 I would suspect this lost leader program cannot go on forever.

Recall that a USB ImageMate is priced at $29.99 on the Internet. I have not check retail prices lately.

Earthquakes are a real risk for those investing in SanDisk.

Last September the largest earthquake in 100 years shut down production at Hsinchu for a little over a week. Twenty-five hundred Taiwanese parished due to destruction in populated areas.

There were two moderate-sized quakes on the island today with little loss of life...

Taiwan Earthquake Kills 1, But Far From Populated Areas

TAIPEI (Dow Jones)--One man was killed and 13 injured after a moderate earthquake struck central Taiwan in a sparsely populated area Wednesday, the National Fire Administration under the Cabinet-level Ministry of Interior said. The epicenter of the quake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, was about 40.8 kilometers northeast of the Sun Moon Lake resort area, the island's largest natural lake. Sun Moon Lake is about 150 kilometers south of the capital Taipei. Analysts said the quake would have little impact on Taiwan's major manufacturing areas. The resort area suffered severe damage when a 7.6-magnitude tremor jolted Taiwan on Sept. 21. Lakefront hotels collapsed and several landmark structures were ruined. The Sept. 21 earthquake also forced nearly all the semiconductor plants in the Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park, Taiwan's high-tech center, to halt production.

A catastrophic natural disaster or political unrest are two risks associated with high technology investing. This is not unique to SanDisk.

All investors in SanDisk should consider these facts in their assessment of risk tolerance.
