Ian, re: mother boards.
The only reason I wonder is that I recall Gelsinger making a statement that 80% of CPU's would ship with mobo's by the end of the year, up from 30%.
With the advent of Rambus/820/840/Willamette and faster PIII's I assumed the OEM's would prefer that Intel manufacture, test and assure the quality of the mobo's. For the 810/440BX/815 solutions it's probably not as much an issue.
But you're probably right.
